Draco Triplet


This triplet of galaxies is called the Draco Group or Draco Triplet. They are located in the northern constellation of Draco. From the left to right are a face-on spiral galaxy NGC 5985, elliptical galaxy NGC 5982 and edge-on spiral NGC 5981. These galaxies do all lie roughly 100 million light-years from our planet Earth. Further on the right there is a lenticular galaxy, NGC 5976.
