C/2025 T1 (ATLAS) in action!
Comet C/2025 T1 (ATLAS) is a tourist passing through our solar system just between Mars' and Jupiter's orbits.
It is currently traveling at a speed of approximately 130,000 miles per hour (209,000 kilometers per hour),
which is the fastest speed ever recorded for a solar system visitor!
This deep-sky capture is an integration of 30 one-minute sub-exposure images.
The primary equipment used was the Omegon 10" Newtonian telescope mounted on a Skywatcher HEQ-5, with a ZWO ASI 533MC-Pro camera.
A quick note on the video: The thin white lines visible are not artifacts, but satellites passing between the telescope and
the comet during the long exposure.
